Control Units
PD3
Is there a fan connector for the PD3 Series units?
The PD3 Series units do not have a connector output that can be used for fans.
QA No. 12-0009
During PD3 Series communication, are there any issues when other devices are connected?
<For cases where standards and pin configurations are the same>
Although communication is not possible due to differences in communication protocols,
nothing will malfunction or be damaged even if they are connected.
<For cases where standards and pin configurations are different>
If voltages and input/output pin configurations are different and they are connected, this can result in malfunction or damage,
so we strictly prohibit this.

Not included.
Please make use of an optional trigger input cable (sold separately).
2.Dimming control
a) Parallel

QA No. 12-0007
A voltage drop and a decrease in product service life would occur, preventing the product from providing the specified performance.
Please make use of the product within the specified usage temperature range.

OFF voltage: DC 5V or lower, OFF current: 1mA or lower
QA No. 12-0004
It would be the same as when each of the units were connected individually.
Please note, however, that dimming would only be performed in a single location.
QA No. 12-0003
It will light up but the light will be weak.
Fundamentally, no damage should occur to either the power source or light unit.
QA No. 12-0002
This is possible for a custom order product.
For more details, please inquire at our various sales offices.
QA No. 12-0001

A table comparing the PD2-3024 Series and PD3-3024 Series units is given below.
(Common specifications for PI, SI, and EI.)
QA No. 12-0001
Identification is performed using the ID switch configurations,
and up to 4 units can be connected to a single signal line.
Please read the following before connecting:
PD3_EIA-485_jp.pdf
QA No. 11-0165
This is not possible since the plastic chassis would come into contact with other objects.
Please make use of the optional bracket.
QA No. 11-0165
Does the "EIA485 type" for the PD3-3024-3-SI unit refer to the same thing as RS-485?
It refers to a standardized version of RS-485.
QA No. 11-0164
For the QPD3-3024-3 Series, is it possible to change the PWM frequency?
This is possible for some custom order units.
Aside from 125kHz, 62.5kHz, 250kHz, and 50kHz can also be provided as options.
For more details please contact one of our various sales offices.
QA No. 11-0163
It will be retained even after power has been turned OFF.
QA No. 11-0162
Do the PD3-3024-3 Series units have a fan Control Unit connector?
The PD3-3024-3 Series units do not have a connector output that can be used for fans.
QA No. 11-0161
For the PD3-3024-3 Series units, is PWM control used during strobe mode and light-emission?
PWM control is used.
QA No. 11-0160
Can a PD3-3024-3 Series unit be used while connected with a STU-3000 unit?
They can be connected.
Although it will not be possible to control precise light-emitting time settings, the PD3-3024-3 Series units are equipped with a strobe function equivalent to that of the STU-3000 units.
QA No. 11-0159
-Serial (EIA-485) communication type:
Although the standard is basically the same as that for EIA-485, based on internal evaluations, 30m or more for maximum transmission distance cannot be guaranteed.
-Ethernet communication type:
Please exercise caution when configuring IP addresses and subnet masks.
Even for usage environments where multiple units are connected, Ethernet settings, such as IP addresses, etc., can only be performed on a 1 to 1 basis.
QA No. 11-0158
For the PD3-3024-3-PI, is the 8th bit of the dimming value a common bit?
It is a common bit.
QA No. 11-0157
How many degrees is the heat generated by a PD3-3024-3 Series unit?
At a maximum dimming load and 30W power consumption, it would be 55°C when used in a 40°C environment.
QA No. 11-0152
What is the mounting orientation for a PD3-3024-3 Series unit?
It is possible to mount the unit in a vertical manner.
Mounting orientations that requires the plastic case to act as the fastening surface are prohibited, due to strength issues.
QA No. 11-0151
Are there mounting methods for the PD3-3024-3 Series units that don't involve the use of a DIN rail?
It is possible to remove the rubber feet and to use an optional bracket to fasten the unit.
QA No. 11-0150
When using a PD3-3024-3 Series unit, if an error occurs, will the unit recover on its own?
It cannot recover on its own.
After the cause of the error is rectified,
please restart the primary power source.
QA No. 11-0148
How can a PD3 Series unit be cleaned if it has been soiled?
When cleaning the chassis, please use a soft rag that has been dipped in water containing diluted neutral detergent, and thoroughly wring out the rag before lightly wiping away the stains, and finally use a separate soft rag to wipe it dry.
- -Before performing cleaning, shut down power and unplug the unit from the power outlet.
- -Do not damage the unit by letting it come into contact with hard objects.
- -Do not let water or detergent come into contact with the unit's internal parts.
- -Do not use any detergents/chemicals other than neutral detergent.
QA No. 11-0147
What is the response time for a PD3-3024-3 Series unit?

QA No. 11-0145
What is the dimming value compatibility and linearity between the PD3-3024-3 Series and PD2?
They are not completely compatible due to differences in frequency and FET gate voltage differences.
Additionally, linearity is roughly equivalent.
QA No. 11-0144
Are there any noise related issues for the PD3 Series?
Since it depends on the usage environment, although it is hard to say for sure, since the units for this series perform external control using photo coupler input and they are equipped with noise suppressing countermeasures based on the techniques we have refined over the years, it is fair to say that they are more resistant than the PD2 Series.
